Our Story – Gallery TACO TUBO(Takotsubo)

Our Story

Why did we name this gallery Tako Tsubo:

One day Professor K., one of our relatives who collects octopuses traps for his researches said the following:

“I have several tako traps for my research works. They all have a hole at the bottom used to set a rope, but if you insert a container that you could fill with water, the tako trap can be used as a very decorative flower vase. What do you think about it?”

Along the words of Professor K., I realized that the tako tsubo that he cherished was more than a simple trap but an object capable of carrying a lot of thoughts. I decided to accept with great honor and to receive the taketsubo from Professor K. and place it at the best location at the center of the house. Unfortunately, time passing, the virus calamity delayed the perspective but generated the creation of woven fabric on the same theme carrying on the path of thoughts.

The design that is used as header on this website expresses the continuity of this tako pot riding the ocean waves into our daily lives. As such it became a natural flow that this gallery was named Tako Tsubo. All pieces assembled into one pot.
