Ms. TAKAHASHI Kaoru is a tourist guide in Saipan and specializes in commemorative tours for the bereaved families of Japanese soldiers. Saipan Island is currently known as a tropical resort;however, it has a different view before 1945, because this island once governed by Imperial Japan was a battle area during the second world war. Ms. Takahashi tells us, “Please do not forget Saipan’s tragic history.” With visiting scenic sights, she delivers a message on war and peace through this exhibition.
